The album was composed of unreleased tracks from the recording sessions of 2002's, although slight additions were made. Unfinished Business was promoted by the 'Best of Both Worlds' with R. Unfinished Business debuted at number one on the U.S. Chart amid controversy and criticism. Like its predecessor, it was criticized for repetitive lyrics. Jay-Z and the tour promoter then banned R.
